Vanessa Griffiths MRCVS

I graduated from Dublin Vet College in 1998 and have worked in Wales ever since. Having married a Welshman I can almost call myself a native (unless there’s rugby involved!).

My veterinary interests are soft tissue surgery and small animal medicine – my main objective is to treat all animals I see as I would like my own pets (2 mischievous dogs and 2 spoilt cats!) treated. As the small animal director here at Daleside, my priorities are excellent standards of care and client satisfaction.

As a government appointed LVI ( local vet inspector) I am able to give advice on and issue pet passports/export certificates.

I work mainly between the Wrexham and Penyffordd surgeries and am available for appointments Monday’s, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Friday mornings.

I look forward to meeting you !

Rowena Siddorn MRCVS

Hello, I am Rowena Siddorn, I have been a qualified vet longer than I care to remember, and due to other vets retiring I find myself as the most senior vet (age wise)! I have worked at Daleside since 1993, mainly based in Shotton but occasionally going to Pandy. I work part time so have time to enjoy my work and other activities like going to church, helping with the farm at home, and more recently rowing. At work I enjoy all aspects of my profession but especially operating and fixing bones. It is good to work with a team where we can share our strengths and so provide a high level of care to our clients and their animals. Nowadays we also have many specialists that we can call upon as necessary.

At home we have a mixed enterprise farm, having diversified to take advantage of being on the outskirts of Chester. We have two children – a son who is an arable farmer in Yorkshire and a daughter who works with horses based at home.

Adrian Bucutea MRCVS

I was born in Romania and qualified in 2002. I came to the UK in 2008 and have been working with Daleside since January 2009. I love my job and am committed to doing the very best for my patients. I’m particularly interested in general surgery. Outside work, family comes first. I enjoy spending time with my wife and son. We love the great outdoors and enjoy fishing and hiking.

Louise Stansfield MRCVS

Originally from Wrexham I qualified from Liverpool and then worked as a vet in the UK and briefly in Australia.

Having relocated back to my home town I joined Daleside in January 2012 and am delighted to be part of a veterinary team committed to providing the highest standards of care and compassion to both patients and owners.

I enjoy all aspects of my profession but have a particular interest in complex medical cases and soft tissue surgery.

I have two children and a large cat who between them take up most of my time away from work but I still enjoy walking and the odd Rugby game when I can get a pass out!

Zoe Roberts MRCVS

I am originally from Northern Ireland and qualified in 2010 from Glasgow University. I then moved to North Wales which now is very much home, but I remember where my loyalties lie when the rugby is on!

I have a keen interest in internal medicine and I am currently completing a certificate with Liverpool University, however I enjoy all aspects of general practice and particularly enjoy getting to know clients and their pets!

Outside of work I live with my husband, two stepchildren and an array of pets- a collie, 2 cats and a goldfish! I love running and hill walking with my collie Nea, she sets a stiff pace!

Matthew Phillips MRCVS

Hi there,

I’m Matt and I’m the newbie at Daleside. Originally from Shrewsbury, I qualified from the University of Bristol in 2015. I then went on to work in a large veterinary hospital down in North London for a year and recently made the move back to the North West.

I live with my girlfriend Hannah and our Guinea Pig Pickle. I’m a very keen sportsman both playing and watching, especially the Seagulls (Brighton and Hove Albion). If I’m not vetting you’ll find me on the sports field playing hockey, tennis, cricket or golf! I am also a keen surfer and hiker and love getting out in the great outdoors.

Nathan Booth RVN

Nurse Manager

My name is Nathan and I am the nurse manager at Daleside Veterinary Group. I did my nurse training here many moons ago, and after 10 years away doing other things I have re-joined the Daleside team

During my time away from Daleside I have completed a degree in zoology, worked for a number of other veterinary practices, and have even been a lecturer! None have measured up to nursing at Daleside though and I am glad to be back. I am proud to manage such a fantastic team of registered and student veterinary nurses, and look forward to the new challenges my role will bring.

My passion is canine behaviour and training and I have developed a sound knowledge in this field over the years, enabling me to offer a dog behaviour service at the practice.

I have two rabbits at home called Percy Jackson and Penny Parker, and I have a beagle called Cooper who loves nothing more than running round at every opportunity! Cooper comes to work with me every day and has the best time playing with the other staff dogs in the office.

Rachel Cole RVN

Hi I am Rachel. I re joined the Daleside team in January 2015 after having a career break to have my two children. Daleside is a lovely, friendly place to work and I feel very privileged to work along side such a dedicated team. I am based in our Penyffordd clinic, helping out in reception, assisting the vets and running nurse clinics. I really enjoy all aspects of my job, but especially enjoy meeting clients and their pets, and running nurse clinics such as weight management, preventative care to include worm and flea advice, and puppy health clubs to name a few. Outside of work I love to spend time with my husband and my two children enjoying the countryside. At home we have a gorgeous cat called Humphrey, a tankful of fish and a pet rat called Sam!

Judith Churm RVN

My name is Judy and I have worked in practice since 1999, I qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2004. Following my qualification in vet nursing I did a city and guilds qualification and trained to become an A1 assessor, I later updated this qualification to become a clinical coach which enables me to assist junior nurses with their training.

During my career in Vet Nursing I have worked in 3 practices including an exotic referral practice in which I have a particular interest, I have recently contributed to a current BSAVA manual in exotic nursing.

Since returning to Daleside part time following maternity leave I have geared my passion for preventative health care in pets and really enjoying running a range of clinics which include weight management, behaviour, senior clinics, puppy health clubs and many more!!!

I also really enjoy helping to run client evenings at Daleside which enables me to share my knowledge with clients, so far we have run desensitisation evenings, cognitive dysfunction evenings as well as a first aid course for groomers , kennels and catteries.

Out of work I live with my husband Darren and I really enjoy being a mum to our 2 young children. We also have a very handsome golden retriever called Brenig and a cat called Sophie.

Laura Williams RVN

Hi I’m Laura, one of the Registered Veterinary Nurses here at Daleside.

I Qualified in 2008 and after all this time and a lifetime around animals I can truly say I am lucky to have a career in an area I am very passionate about.

I joined the team back in May 2016 and haven’t looked back since. We are all likeminded when it comes to the welfare of the animals we care for here and I get to work with a great bunch of people too.

Along with Rachel and Judy, I am also one of the Pet Health Councillors for the practice which is a role I enjoy most. We are the three main clinic nurses, of which my area covers mainly Shotton and one day a week at Wrexham. Being one of the Clinical coaches, which means a mentor for the trainee nurses we have here, is another role I enjoy.

Outside of work I love spending time with my fiancée Andrew and our family…our two cats Aslan and Kitty, doggie daughter Thelma the satffie and Mork the ferret.

Rebecca Pridmore

Hello I’m Rebecca! I joined the Daleside team in January 2015, having spent over 10 years within the financial sector working as a HR and Operational Manager. I now work part time and enjoy the work life balance that this provides.

I am fortunate enough to complete a variety of roles at Daleside, including reception, auxiliary nursing and export administration. I enjoy all aspects of my role at Daleside, especially the nursing, as it is very hand on, and thoroughly rewarding.

Being local to the village of Penyffordd, I am looking forward to welcoming, and getting to know our new clients at the practice. It’s an exciting time for Daleside and I am looking forward to being a part of such a hardworking, passionate team.

Outside of work, I am a busy mum of two children who seem to have an ever increasing social calendar. As for pets, we are the proud owners of two gold fish!!…. but watch this space, as 2015 should see the arrival of our long awaited cockerpoo!
