New way of working

covid-19

Let’s help keep each other safe

Just a quick update from all of us here at Daleside Vets to let you know how we are expanding our services.

Many thanks to everyone for being so understanding over the past months whilst we were seeing only emergencies/urgent cases and adapting to our “new normal” ways of working.  The clinical team have worked extremely hard to continue to provide care to your pets and thorough risk assessments have been conducted at all branches taking into account all current government advice.

So we can continue to help you as best we can please be aware of the following…

We are currently advised by our professional bodies that face to face appointments with clients should be avoided.

We will be unable to allow clients into the consultation rooms. We are therefore unable to deal with walk in enquiries

Please phone (if urgent) or email hello@dalesidevets.co.uk (if routine) the practice to help us to best help you.

Where possible medication should be posted out to avoid contact with our reception team

However we will be able to supply pre-ordered prescriptions/food for collection at the practice between 11am-12.30pm and 4.30pm – 6pm at our Wrexham and Shotton Branches.

Please email hello@dalesidevets.co.uk to place any prescription requests, giving us the usual 48 hrs notice.

Our Penyffordd branch is currently closed on Wednesdays so no collections or orders can be made that day. If urgent you can call our Shotton or Wrexham branches who can place an order for you.

We ask that you wear a face covering when attending our practices to ensure the safety of our staff.

Daleplan Delivered

We will no longer be posting out flea and worming treatment free of charge for Daleplan members.

We have set up an upgraded Daleplan system (DalePlan Delivered) that will automatically deliver all flea and worming products for a minimal additional monthly fee.

If you wish to collect your pets Daleplan flea and worming treatment from the practice, please give us 48 hrs notice and arrive during the medicine collection times above.

We are now seeing pets for their routine vaccinations as usual, however please be aware there is a backlog of pets to be seen due to the recent lockdown.

We are advised by the drug companies that routine boosters are safe to go overdue by up to 3 months, so we will therefore prioritise booking in pets that are over 2 months overdue their booster vaccines. We have allocated vaccine clinic slots each day at all 3 sites (except Wednesdays at Penyffordd currently) – these vaccine appointments can be booked online for your convenience.

We have restarted sending out vaccine reminders so if your pet is due a booster soon you should receive a text or email, however if you are unsure when your pet is next due please contact us via email on hello@dalesidevets.co.uk and help keep our phone lines free for sick pets.

When you attend the practice please be aware we are working in a very different way.

We have installed perspex screens at reception and all staff will be wearing face coverings. We ask that you do the same, to help keep us safe too.

  • Please wear a mask – If you forget your mask, we have some available at reception at a cost of £1.
  • We have increased our cleaning schedule and removed as many items as possible from the reception areas to make deep cleaning more effective.
  • Please avoid touching surfaces as much as possible.
  • On arrival & again when leaving we ask that you use the hand sanitiser provided.

Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your appointment time as parking is limited at the practices.

You can either call from the car or ring the door bell to let us know you are here.

  • Please wait with your pet in the car park.
  • A nurse will come out to collect your pet to bring in to be examined by the vet.
  • Please ensure you have brought your mobile phone with you so the vet can call you whilst treating your pet so you are kept fully updated & can raise any queries.
  • Once your pet is ready to leave, the nurse will return them to you in the carpark – treatment can be paid for over the phone or by card in the carpark.

For pets being admitted for surgical procedures – please arrive at your designated admit time (not early or late).

  • Please read in full the pre-operative information that has been emailed to you prior to the surgery to minimise our admittance times.
  • Let us know you have arrived but remain with your pet in the car park until the nurse comes to collect them.
  • Please ensure we have a good contact number to be able to speak with you throughout the day and ensure this is on at all times.
  • We will arrange a discharge time with you once the procedure is complete – all discharge instructions will be emailed to you prior to this, or the vet will phone you to discuss.
  • Please read BEFORE coming to collect your pet so any face to face contact is kept to a minimum.

We thank you all for your co-operation during these times, we are doing all we can to keep you, your pets and our staff safe – inevitably everything takes longer as we learn to adjust, so we appreciate your patience.

“Daleside vets are the best. I have been visiting them for over 10 years. They have brilliant facilities and all the staff are wonderful,

Keep up the good work Daleside. X”
