This week Buddi the Pets as Therapy (PAT) dog came to meet the team in Wrexham. Buddi was a lovely little chap who instantly won the hearts of all the staff! Buddi likes to spend his free time visiting patients in the Wrexham Maelor Hospital and Nightingale House Hospice. He is able to bring them some comfort at what can be a very difficult time. We at Daleside are proud to be able to sponsor Buddi as part of our ‘donate our time’ initiative. As a result, we can make sure he is kept in tip top condition and able to continue helping anyone who needs him.
We had a lovely little Bichon come see us on Monday, who had a tick stuck in his snout! The vet was able to remove it for him and hopefully he should be fine now. Most people think of ticks and fleas as a summer problem, but this just goes to show they can affect your pet all year round. Ticks can transmit something called Lyme disease. This can pose a serious threat to your pet and even to you! To keep you and your pet protected, effective parasite control is really important all year round. If you’re worried about ticks or any other parasites that might infect you pet then book a free consult with one of our nurses to discuss it further.
Did you know it was World Diabetes Day on Wednesday? November is also Pet Diabetes Month! Diabetes is a condition that is becoming more common in cats and dogs over the age of six. This is something they are at even higher risk from if they are overweight. Would you know what signs to look out for in your pet? For the month of November at Daleside we are offering free Diabetic Checks with our veterinary nurses to discuss the risks to your pet. We will be able to discuss the signs and symptoms to look out for and give you advice to get you pet nice and trim if they are carrying a little extra weight!
“Daleside vets are the best. I have been visiting them for over 10 years. They have brilliant facilities and all the staff are wonderful,
