Daleside, proudly independent vets

Welcome to our first blog

In this we are championing the cause of local business and independent vets as corporate buyers take over our neighbouring colleagues today! Sadly we are now the last independent vet practice in Wrexham and we feel it is important to make clients aware of our ethos and aims and to re-iterate the importance of supporting local business.

Daleside is 100% owned by 3 practising veterinary surgeons who live locally, not only running the business but treating and caring for animals on a day to day basis. We work alongside a hugely committed team whose input and ideas are actively listened to and actioned to make the care and services we offer the absolute best it can be. By not having external investors or non-veterinary management to answer to, we can make decisions with animal care our focus rather than “return on investment”.

As a practice, we want to provide the best care we can for farm animals and pets at an affordable price – we are constantly sourcing medicines and investing in equipment at the best possible price.

As an employer, we aim to provide a friendly, highly skilled workplace by accommodating family friendly hours where possible and funding training and additional qualifications for all members of our team.

As a proud local business we want to support other local businesses by buying locally where possible – from paper towels delivered by one of our local farmers to the builders working on our new surgery in Penyffordd.

As business owners living in the community in which we work, we want to give something back through our work experience and veterinary nurse training programmes as well as organising fun events for local playgroups and animal charities.

We are proud to be independent – we will continue to offer an alternative to corporate veterinary care for those who feel that personal service with community values providing top quality affordable care should be available to all animals in the Wrexham, Chester and Flintshire areas.

Thanks Vanessa

“Fantastic owners and amazing vets and staff that really care about the animals that they see. Can’t do enough to help either through treatment or advice. Well done guys, we feel privileged for you to look after our boys, past and present xx”
