North Clwyd Animal Rescue Shoe Box Appeal

This week has seen us launch our Christmas Shoe Box Appeal for NCAR. We are asking our clients to put together a Christmas Shoe Box for the cats and dogs at NCAR during the holidays. NCAR have asked for items such as long lasting treats, strong toys, fleece blankets, cat treats and food. We understand that not everyone will be able to put together a shoe box, so any donation (big or small) will be much appreciated by us and the animals of NCAR. If you are able to offer anything at all, then you can drop it off at any of our three practices and we will make sure our very own Christmas elves (Polly and Nathan) hand deliver them to NCAR in time for Christmas day!

Christmas Giving

We have had some lovely Christmas cards and gifts from our amazing clients over the last week. So we just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone that has brought something in for us. We also want to give a massive thank you to every one of our clients that has supported us throughout year, you are all amazing!

Chub Club

We have another big achiever in chub Club this week. Alife (one of Nathan’s favourite patients) has lost a staggering 15% of his starting body weight, which is 1.9kg! Alfie has been coming to see Nathan regularly for quite sometime and has had a few ups and downs along the way. Alfie and his owner’s hard work and determination has finally paid off though. He is much slimmer now he is at his target weight and doesn’t need to worry about obesity related health problems. We’re sure that lots of you will be starting diets yourself in the New Year, so why not book your dog into Chub club too and do it together!?

Progesterone

We are now able to offer same day progesterone testing at Wrexham and Shotton. Our new laboratory equipment enables us to run blood samples to test progesterone levels in house. This is something that we would have previously had to send off to an external laboratory, delaying the results. If progesterone testing for breeding is something  you are interested in, then please give us a call to discuss this with one of our vets.
