Coronavirus update

22nd June 2020

As lockdown restrictions lift in Wales and non essential shops start opening, please be aware we are a HEALTHCARE provider and as such must operate under strict guidelines similar to doctors and dentists.

We are not a shop.  We are currently UNABLE to provide face to face consultations (unless emergency) and are triaging the most urgent cases via video consultation.  You can book a video consult please click here

We are working to bring more staff into the building over the coming week to facilitate more routine appointments/surgeries but it will be no means business as usual.  We are still being advised by the RCVS & BVA (our governing bodies) to work behind closed doors for the safety of the public and of course our staff and this of course means everything takes more time.

So we appreciate your patience at this time, further updates will he made on FB and via email out to our registered clients.

In the meantime, help us to help you – email for any advice/non urgent queries or medication/food requests to hello@dalesidevets.co.uk.  or book a video consult please click here

Please keep our phones free for urgent cases

We are open for Emergencies.

We are currently running a video consultation service to help us assess if your pet needs to be seen in practice.  In many cases a video consultation provides the vet with enough information to be able to prescribe treatment without you needing to leave home. For more information on video consults click here

For general advice, routine bookings or medication/food orders please email hello@dalesidevets.co.uk and help keep our phone lines free.

We are currently open amended opening hours for emergency appointments only as advised. Medication that has been requested is available for collection – please call us from the carpark when you arrive and we will come out to you. We are operating on a skeleton staff, so please bear with us! This means it might take us a bit longer to answer the phone or your emails, especially if we are attending to a sick or injured pet. Please help us by only phoning us if necessary – non urgent queries are better dealt with via email.

Please note we are only taking contactless card or phone payments where possible  to reduce personal contact. Hopefully everybody is understanding of these changes.

Please, please adhere to government advice and stay home wherever possible – we are doing all we can to continue to provide good levels of clinical care at the moment, but it is very difficult and we can only imagine what our NHS colleagues are dealing with.

Changes to our service during COVID19 restrictions

We are looking at a longer period of COVID restrictions so have been asked to change some of the things we do.  Some things that aren’t emergencies now need to be done to help continue to keep our pets healthy.

However, this is by no means a return to our normal service!  We still need to be mindful of limiting to only essential journeys, as well as avoiding human contact – that’s the same for our staff. We have minimal staff working in practice and are social distancing wherever possible so we cannot see the numbers of pets we would normally

Check out our video discussing the changes we have made to our practice during the COVID-19 outbreak

Hoping you and your pets stay safe and healthy, Take care of one another.

Farm update:

As everyone is aware, the Coronavirus outbreak is a fast moving and rapidly changing situation which is affecting us all.

We are putting a huge amount of time and effort into planning contingencies to ensure we can continue to provide you with the best possible service in these troubling times while maintaining the safety of our practice team.

Many of our team will be spending more time working from home to reduce direct contact with others. So if you need any veterinary medicines please can you contact us by phone before 12pm, to enable us to prepare your order ready for you to collect it later that afternoon from the secure collection box outside the practice. This minimises the time you will need to spend at the surgery, and reduces direct contact with the team.

The delivery service will be continuing, but can we ask that you phone us before 12pm the day before to enable us to prepare your order and get it delivered to you. If you, any members of your household, or any workers on farm have Coronavirus symptoms or are in isolation, please ensure you don’t come into the practice. Also please contact us to let us know before any visit on farm (including drug deliveries), so we can find a way to minimize the risk to the vets out on farm.

As you can appreciate, if at some point isolation regulations or government advice limits the number of vets available at the practice, we may need to postponed certain routine or non urgent work to be able to prioritise urgent visits. In this situation we will discuss this with you as soon as possible.

We are an independent local business with the most dedicated team, doing our best to continue to do the job we love in extremely difficult circumstances.

“A great team of honest, reliable and dedicated farm vets who are both friendly and professional whilst being empathetic towards our business.”
